Hey guys, how useful is pocamarket actually? I've seen it used in the community and am thinking about using it, but when I logged on for the first time it was kind of confusing for me😭Is there something I'm just not getting or is it generally harder to use?

I’ve used pocamarket quite frequently. Everytime i’ve used them it’s been a good experience! I would just make sure you know a lot about the cards you’re purchasing. Sometimes the photocards on there can be really overpriced or you can find ones for really cheap! I believe it’s pretty easy and user friendly to navigate. I’m used to purchasing my overseas cards from Mercari Japan and the shipping and hidden fees were out of hand so I tried pocamarket and prefer it so much more! They ship the cards in sleeves that say pocamarket on them and the sleeves aren’t great quality so I switch them out which sucks but the card come in good condition and in little plastic boxes that I reuse to store stuff in my collection!

So, I am someone who was using Pocamarket from the early stages, back when it was exclusively for K-fans and the market was based there. There are two versions now - Global and Korean, and both have gone down significantly. The Global version is 100% a rip-off, and the quick cards are jacked way up in price compared to the exact same card on the Korean side. Are they legit and in good condition? Yes. It is probably also still cheaper than buying from other I-fans. But the original purpose and use was to set a true market value, for fans, by other fans. People would post their PCs with a price they wanted for them. Others could post 'LF/WTB' with a card and a price range they would be willing to pay. If the two prices matched, the seller and buyer would be connected. However, this was quickly discovered by resellers, who would buy the PCs for cheap just to resell them for profit instead of true collectors, and eventually from here - the PocaMarket we have today came to exist, and subsequentially, the physical stores in Hongdae. Now, almost no one uses it the way it was intended and it's back to just being resellers raiding the good/rare cards.
