Do you set a monthly budget for photocards?

qkyuqkyu
I want to start collecting photocards but I'm afraid that I will spend all my money. How much do you set aside/spend for collecting each month?

Most of my skz pc came from albums but my ateez pc's were mostly bought online... So I lost my brmud Mingi pc on a train or bus so I check if they have them on mercari and ended up buying multiple bundles of pc. Since then I avoid going to mercari because I have no self control 🥲

I started a short while ago, and honestly, it varies every month according to my commitments, but I don't exceed 100 $

How much you set aside will depend on your own circumstances just PLEASE do not be irresponsible and prioritise pcs over necessities. My own personal budget is 600€ which I know is a lot, however, it is something I can comfortably afford to do.

At this point - my budget is based on what I sell from my collection. So if I sold $30 - then that’s what I have.

It depends on how much money you make, how much you have, and what you plan to buy. I suggest setting aside a small but decent portion of money for merch, then if there’s any extra that month week or however long your budget is for, then add it to the next budget.

As of this month I did. It’s more of an amount I set aside each pay though. I try not to go over $50 per pay.

yessss I follow the 60/20/20 rule so at the end of then month 60% income goes to needs, 20% for wants, and 20% to savings! If I have leftover money from needs I carry it into the next month and then the end of everu year I divide leftovers between savings and wants <333

I will tell you the hard truth, you will spend all of your money, cuz you might want to get a set or found a very good deal, so as someone who has an income put a goal of which PCs you want to get and set aside the budget for it , and don't worry if some goes away you will always find it elsewhere

I don’t have a fixed income so at the end of the month I check how much I’ve received and spend about €15 since I buy more albums than photocards :)

i have a weekly budget overall, so i just check at the end of the week how much im ”allowed” to spend as in how much leftover money i have from what ive planned, taking into account if i have other things planned to buy still ^^ if i come across something ive been actively searching for, i might just buy it and adjust my week budget based on that lol, though i do try to be responsible with that, and if i make more expensive orders (like 50€ or more) i usually try to keep that as my only one for the month

Nope, I just buy what I see/“need” at the time!

I can afford it, it’s okay. Thank you for being concerned though. 🤍

Usually my advice would be to spend responsibly, but also if you start a side hustle, maybe that money could go to your budget

I have a monthly budget based on my work hours. However one way I make sure to not spend too much is to prioritise different cards. For example I collect all Changbin cards, however I can only buy album cards until I’ve completed that collection. That way I don’t feel the need to buy every card I see

My best friend and I started a system where if we do a certain amount of household chores like dishes, laundry, or really anything you have a hard time completing then we can buy a photocard or album. You can definitely customize it to your budget!
